On SOPA and Similar Bouts of Madness

I really do worry about the state of things. I really do.
SOPA, ACTA, PIPA... I get what these misguided, well-intentioned people are trying to do. But honestly, the wording is entirely too broad and they don't know what they're really mucking around with.
SOPA would have shut down any sites guilty of copyright infringement, PIPA - I honestly can't remember, but I know it was similarly a big no - and ACTA... It's bundling piracy and counterfeiting together. Again, not too sound of an idea. Piracy is the illegal acquisition and distribution of materials; counterfeiting often occurs when a consumer is duped into purchasing goods, such as a Gucci handbag or an iPod, without realizing they aren't authentic. Copyright holders do this pretty often, merging it anti-piracy measures with counterfeiting ones. In a nutshell, it's alarmingly similar to SOPA and PIPA, but has received less scrutiny and attention because of it's being a treaty.
Time to stop it.

Signing this, we might make a difference. It's a big maybe, but... We have to do something, right? Because even though you think you'd be safe just by following the laws and such, that too often isn't the case now. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse, yes, but laws and treaties aren't always right. They often can be, and often are, but they are equally often aren't and have no intention to be.

So, I've been browsing around LiveJournal, clicking anything that seemed interesting. While reading some posts, I find out that up in Canada, net neutrality is being threatened. Scrolling down yielded something for we Americans.

Sims 3 Release -- Delayed!

It seems like I've kept up with my tradition of forgetting I have a deviantART journal. My last entry was two years ago!
Anyway, by the title, the subject is clear: the Sims 3, a highly anticipated installment to the Sims games, has been delayed. EA announced the game wouldn't be released Feb. 20th but June 2nd.
